Backup and backup schedule on Windows 7

Please be aware that this tutorial is applicable to Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Backup procedure is one of most important procedures in order to save your system data as well as your private data.

First start backup schedule with idea what files need to be backed up and where.
Start with opening of Control panel. On Windows 10 right click to start menu and select Control panel (Slide 1). On Windows 7 do it with left click on Start button.

In Control panel select Select and Restore (Windows 7) option which leads you to backup configuration dialog (Slide 2.).

Now select Set up backup option (Slide 3).

On next window you need to decide where to backup your data. I have selected my external hard disk for this tutorial (Slide 4.), although I think that better strategy is to use some network drive on dedicated server or storage. Select Next in order to proceed with backup configuration.

Now you can leave by default and let Windows choose what needs to be backed up, but I`m always selecting option Let me choose, in order to be in charge of my data (Slide 5). Select Next.

Now you have to choose what you want to backup. For this time I have selected Program Files just to show you how it`s works. Select Next in order to proceed (Slide 6.).

On next window you can review your settings, but most important thing, this is the point where you can change your backup schedule. Select Change schedule if you want to change default settings (Slide 7.).

On this screen please change scheduler as you wish and select OK (Slide 8.). You will be returned to slide 7. where you need to select Save settings and run backup.

Review your backup process as I did on slide 9. Of course you can exclude System image but it is not recommended.
