Battery report in Windows 10 PC

If you use Windows 10 on a laptop or for example on tablet, battery capacity and proper working is really one of the most important things for you. Constant monitoring and ensuring that your battery works fine is highly recommended, or at one moment you will unexpectedly figure it out that your battery is almost dead and can`t run more than 20 minutes for example.

Monitoring the estimated battery life on your laptop or tablet is not a rocket science. You can  click the battery icon in the notification area and you can see the percentage battery left and average time that remains for your work. But,  estimation, is just like it says , and it is completely dependent on how you use your laptop or tablet at that exact moment . If it says that you have lets say 6 hours, it means that at that moment of measuring it`s estimated for 6 hours, but in next 10 minutes you can start using your device for some more power hungry process and 6 hours can become 2 hours.

So, what is your actual state of battery, is there any way to get that information. Answer is…yes!

Here is how you can generate battery report as HTML and observer a lot of informations about your precious battery.

Click on Windows start meny button and type CMD

Command Prompt will show in the list, right click on Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator

Click YES on User Account Control

Command prompt will start.

In command prompt type

powercfg /batteryreport /output “C:\Battery Life\battery_report.html

If you look in to the command above you will see that battery_report.html will be saved in the “Battery Life” folde  of  C:\  drive. Anyway, you can change /output to some other folder if you like.

Now, press Enter

Battery life report is now saved on propper location.

Run Windows Explorer and navigate to folder where you save report file, in this case it is C:\Battery Life\battery_report.html location

Double click on html file and web browser will show generated report.

Thats it! Now you can check all data about your battery.
