There is a lot tools that which exporting reports to CSV file. Comma-separated values file stores tabular data in plaint text, according to Wikipedia. For this purpose I have created .csv file with some data as you can see on slide 1 and I am using MS Excel for conversion process. Data are comma separated. Goal is to separate each data/value to individual cell.
Mark data you want to be converted. Go to Data tab and select Text To Columns (Slide 2).
Wizard will be started and you have to select option Delimited and select Slide , because your data is comma delimited (Slide 3.). Delimiter or separator is usually comma but it can be some other symbol.
Knowing that your delimiter is comma, check it and optionally select Treat consecutive delimiters as one if you have such case(Slide 4). Select Next.
Last step in wizard is about selecting format for data in columns. Select format for each column and select Finish (Slide 5).
Now, data will be transformed to easy readable tabular format which can be saved as .xls or .xlsx file (Slide 6.).
I am aware that there is numerous online converting tools, but this old fashion way gives you more flexibility in customization CSV files.
