How to create PHP info file

Well, I know that lot of people knows how to test PHP, Apache or MySQL version with PHP Info file, but there will be always newbies in programming or some otherĀ  IT area. So I decided to write tutorials about everything no meter how easy it looks like.

Imagine you are starting to install some open source CMS or any application and you need to verify requirements. There are always requirements regarding PHP, Apache, MySQL… Question is how to check version? If you are using web hosting, you are probably have cPanel and then it`s easy. Use PHP Info script.

For testing purposes I use XAMPP and when I want to check all parameters linked to PHP features, Apache configurations….

In root of your web server create info.php. Type following script

phpinfo();

?>

Now, navigate your browser to http://localhost/info.php if you are on local PC or www.yourlocation.com/info.php if you are using web hosting.

You will receive page that looks something like slide 1. and 2.
